After 3 or so years of coming and going through this dispensary I find it's products consistently good. Yes, prerolls are tough to open but I never received a stale one unlike many other dispensaries. And quality ounces at $80 to $100 are tough to compete against.

Tamika was very knowledgeable and really helped me pick out products that I would enjoy. Great variety of in house product and amazing prices. Highly recommended!!!

There are a couple people who work here that are just AWESOME!! Joey, being one of them! He is always super kind and welcoming and I look forward to seeing him & hearing about the books hes writing, when I come in! We've known each other since we were little and hes a GREAT person! I wish I could remember the woman's name who helps me here. She's there a lot and has an addictive personality! I yelled out once when she wasnt at the counter, (she was in the bathroom and I didn't know it) she came out and said "I had to use the restroom man!" It kind of broke the ice and we started laughing. Good people!♡ Good bud and all around 10/10!♡

The service here was not great. Very cranky lady that was unhelpful and rude. Wouldn’t visit again.

I have been rocking with Alt since they were a little room in South Portland. Greg used to do deliveries for us back in the day. I absolutely love Iron Lung flower and the refine concentrates. Would recommend ya'll to anyone looking for a spot. The new location in Windham was gorgeous, clean, and always well maintained and stocked with product. That's just not the case anymore. I don't know what happened, but it's like management gave up. The staff is incredible, and they're the reason I still pop in once a month. Not the products, because they're always the same. Or if it's something new and we fall in love with it, it never gets ordered again it seems. Every time I ask Greg (because I know the employees have no say in ordering) its always a vague answer. I can't be the only person asking for product that was once carried, if it will be back. He just doesn't have interest in what we like as a customer. I have overheard him telling his employees essentially saying they concentrate on the rec store now (btw, I went there. The assistant manager is truly the rudest human I have ever encountered and the group I went with will never be back) and the prices are crazy for product I've been buying at the med store for much cheaper. Again, the employees make that place. 2ish years ago, they had an assistant manager with red hair, and she honestly was the best. The store was always clean, I felt like she would push Greg for the product we were asking for. The employees seemed happier. I just feel bad for them now. I attached a picture from the last visit I had, visible dust in the case, glass counters all smeared. It's just a shame. This place could really be a top competitor in Windham if they just cared more. It's clearly a lack of good management. The employees never say that, but its so obvious when you see the condition of the store, and the exasperated employees who just want to help their customers.

so I have been a regular here for years and within the past year have had countless of leaking cartridges.. I have received the wrong change here before and have been told by multiple employees that they cannot give me a receipt or do not know how. they do not try very hard to figure out how to print your receipt if you press for it, and I have been lied to about a receipt being sent to my email.. for any business that requires you pay cash, it is unheard of to refuse to provide receipts (especially when your employees are miscounting). and when I have brought back leaking cartridges I have been asked for what? a receipt! this place is infuriating at this point.

Joe M. and honestly everyone at alternative essence are amazingly helpful and the products are top of the line quality, loud carts being my absolute favorite. I won’t go anywhere else!

My only place I go to shop for weed! If it wasn't for Tamika and Joe being such amazing people and always connecting with their customers and ensuring they get what they came in for I don't think I'd be back. Keep up the amazing work guys!!!

Bit disappointed today. The guy almost forgot to give me the 5 pack I asked for and was charged for, I had to remind him. He also gave my husband the wrong stain which he didn't notice until we got home, trusting that the guy knew what he was doing. Hubby prefers indica and the strain he was given is heavy sativa. However, when we did get them on the phone, they did take care of us and make up for the mistake.

Really appreciate Joe taking care of me whenever I need to reup. I always know that whenever I see him I'll be met with a smile and a level of care that can't be matched anywhere else. You can go pretty much anywhere and find what you're looking for product wise, but real connections with the community and the human beings behind your medicine is a huge bonus that is much more rare. Thankful for my guy!
