I usually have an okay experience, and I don’t come to Nectar very often. However, when I do, I expect to be treated the same as I would at any other dispensary. One experience that has always stuck with me happened during one of Nectar’s Christmas charity promotion. Customers could donate clothing or food in exchange for a joint. I brought in a brand-new jacket that still had the original tags attached, but one of the employees commented that it smelled like smoke. Because of that, they rejected the jacket and had me donate a different one instead. I found this confusing and unnecessary, especially considering we were standing inside a dispensary where cannabis is openly handled and the smell is everywhere. What made it even more frustrating is that later that same day, we took the exact same new jacket to another Nectar location, and they accepted it without any issues. That made it seem like the decision was based on that particular employee’s judgment rather than any consistent company policy. Another thing I’ve noticed over multiple visits is that the staff doesn’t seem as diverse as what I’ve experienced at other dispensaries. Every time I’ve gone, I’ve often been the only person of color in the store. While diversity alone isn’t the issue, it has contributed to my overall feeling that the environment isn’t as welcoming as it could be. I’ve also found that many of the budtenders don’t seem very knowledgeable. There have been several times where I’ve known more about the products than the employee helping me. When I ask for specific products or deals, I often feel like I’m being steered toward more expensive items instead of having my request answered. This is especially frustrating because I usually check the online menu beforehand and have even confirmed deals with other Nectar locations. Overall, I think there’s room for improvement in customer service, consistency between locations, product knowledge, and simply listening to what customers are actually asking for. A better experience would go a long way toward making me want to return more often. P.S. My phone is broken so i’m using my friends phone My name is Merle! :)
